Integrate temperature screening into building access control systems

Learn More

Building access control systems come in many different forms. Some businesses rely on reception staff to manage entry into the building. Others favor self-service electronic key card and door lock systems. Wello makes it easy to integrate temperature screening into your building’s approach to authorizing employee and visitor access.

Simple verification using Wello stickers

Out of the box, Wello provides an easy, visual indicator of an individual’s screening status. Every welloStationX comes with a label printer that produces an “I’m Wello” sticker for each person who passes screening. The sticker can then become part of your process to approve employee and visitor entry into the building.

Wello customers use sticker verification in a number of ways:

  • All employees and visitors wear the Wello sticker on their clothing at all times throughout the day. Those not wearing a sticker can be questioned and possibly escorted back to the screening area.
  • When wearing a sticker is not practical or desirable, it can be displayed next to an employee’s name on a centralized “health check” board or other team roster.
  • Once a sticker is printed, the individual shows it to a camera positioned next to the Wello kiosk. Remote security personnel can verify the person’s “pass” status and grant them access into the building.
  • Some customers use a different brightly colored Wello sticker for each day of the week. This makes it easier to confirm an individual’s compliance and status from a distance.

Custom key card reader integration

Wello can help you unify your building access control systems by integrating with your existing entry key card reader or badge scanner. This provides a faster, smoother experience for your employees and visitors.

The screening flow is easy and intuitive:

  • Individuals scan their key card at the Wello kiosk prior to screening.
  • RFID technology links the card to the individual’s screening results.
  • Wello sends the screening status data to the key card system.
  • A “pass” status activates the key card and the person can use it to enter the building.
  • A “fail” status disables the key card and sends a notification to designated security staff or management.

Custom door lock integration

Using off-the-shelf components or cloud-based technology, Wello can also integrate with your building’s electronic door lock system. Similar to a key card reader integration, this automates building access while ensuring that everyone who enters has been screened.

Screening is part of self-service, automated access:

  • Individuals proceed through Wello screening.
  • Wello sends the screening status data to the door lock system.
  • A “pass” status unlocks the door and the person can enter the building.
  • A “fail” status keeps the door locked and sends a notification to designated security staff or management.

Customized alerts using user profiles

When Wello detects a temperature above the set threshold, an alert is automatically sent to a designated recipient— typically your building’s security team or management — who can then take appropriate action. In the case of regular visitors, Wello’s user profile feature can map the individual to the proper recipient. So for example, in a facility with multiple companies, Wello can use a User ID or even facial recognition to alert the correct company’s designated recipient.
