Sepsis can be deadly, yet it is treatable when detected early. Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection, caused by common, easily transmitted sicknesses like the flu or pneumonia. Every year more than 285,000 die from sepsis every year – one every 2 minutes; more than from prostate cancer, breast cancer and AIDS combined.

To combat this trend, Sepsis Alliance, the nation’s leading sepsis advocacy organization, began an annual event, Sepsis Heroes, to raise awareness for sepsis as a medical emergency. Sepsis Heroes honors individuals and organizations who have made a significant contribution to sepsis awareness and education among both the general public and healthcare professionals.

Wello Inc. founder and welloStation™ inventor, Rik Heller, is proud to support Sepsis Alliance and the 6th Annual Sepsis Heroes gala, celebrating champions of sepsis awareness. He noted, “I really believe in their mission because they are so committed to educating patients, caregivers and healthcare workers.”

Wello Inc. steps up in support of Sepsis Alliance in the fight to inform and educate others about sepsis

Sepsis Alliance and Wello Inc. both strive to improve sepsis awareness and give healthcare workers and caregivers resources to save lives from sepsis. Heroes like Andre Vovan of Hoag Hospital Presbyterian, and Providence St Joseph Health, are the reason why Mr. Heller and his team at Wello Inc. support Sepsis Alliance. The September event will also recognize notable healthcare institutions like Children’s Hospital Association for their commitment to education and early detection of this deadly condition.

Wello Inc. is a pioneer in the temperature monitoring industry. It’s mission is to develop new solutions for various industries dedicated to ending the spread of infection and promoting a healthy work environment.
